Do You Know/Or Must I Tell You?

Earlier this week I went to see Neko Case at the McDonald Theater in Eugene. It has been a long time since I have been wowed by a powerful performance (particularly female) but this certainly provided that opportunity. A Eugene crowd is always a funny thing to experience during a show--you have the dirty smelly hippies that are way too into the music, and then the age group that actually should be enjoying the show (and is doing so with enthusiasm) and finally the group that is too old to be considered hip (even by their association with the music being played) and manages to look stiffly uncomfortable (to the point that you wonder why they bothered to pay $25 to see a live performance). Ah, well Ms. Case definitely delivered a performance that made it worth it.

Prior to the show we had dinner at the Horsehead. None of us had ever eaten there, but were decently impressed with their selection of southern comfort foods. Certainly not the best to be experienced out West, but not the worst either. I think we all gained a little more respect for this establishment.
