Tastes like a warm sugar cookie

There has been a lot of talk about traditions and such around the office these days, and that has me thinking.

Thinking about...well...traditions...what are the things that make the holidays a warm fuzzy place for you? What are the things you must see, do, hear, smell, etc. this time of year for it to be truly a winter wonderland?

Here is my short list (which I will expand as I think):

  • Downtown shopping/Santa sitting extravaganza
  • Ice Cream punch
  • Scrabble
  • Yummy wreath smell
  • Santa baby...slip a little sable under the tree for me :)
  • Snowflakes (touch, taste, compact into balls and throw)
  • Good friends over warm coffee
  • Lots of laughter...

Re: your comment on my blog, you're probably right, but sitting alone at home with a glass of wine and a bowl of peppermint ice cream sounds damn good right now.

Here are my holiday must-haves:
*copious amounts of hot chocolate
*new PJs on Christmas Eve
*Secret Santa gift exchange
*basking in the electric glow of the decorated tree
*mall shopping, if only briefly, if only for the adrenaline
*Watching "A Christmas Story"

I'll be back in Seattle soon...if you have some free time from your grown-up job, we should get together and catch up. Word.

Ice cream punch? Do elaborate!

Lizzie--we should definitely catch up, let me know when you'll be in town.

Erin--It is a x-mas eve family tradition involving sherbet, 7-up, and cranberry juice...very delicious!
